I would prefer to live in the country. I consider myself to be privileged, because I live in a town. Towns are lively places, where there is always something interesting happening. There is a wide choice of shops, cinemas, theathres, restaurants and pubs. You can go out to a different place every night if you want to. Even if I live in a village, I would prefer to move to a town because town life is so much exciting. Life is never dull in a town, the latest exhibitions, films and plays are going on. Streets are better kept and shops are better supplied. Shopping can even be a pleasure because there is a much wider choice of everything. City life is also better for the children because there is a variety of schools they can choose from and they don’t need to commute. Neither do adults need to commute to work, because they have more chance of employement.

In the pictures I can see some wonderful holidays. People in the first picture are in a beautiful forest, watching what's around them through their binoculars. Obviously, they are enjoying it. The second photo must have been taken in India or somewhere in Asia, where tourists can ride elephants. It must be a great experience, I'd love to try it! The third picture is probably from an advertisement which promotes tourism in Hungary. As far as I can see, it's a picture of Lake Balaton, from the top of a nearby mountain.
As far as I know, Ecotourism is the fastest growing market in the tourism industry. It is more and more popular because a lot of people are more and more aware of the importance of saving our vulnerable natural environment. They try to choose destinations where they can find untouched nature. Eco-tourism is typically defined as travel to destinations where the flora, fauna, and cultural heritage are the primary attractions. Responsible ecotourism includes programs that minimize the adverse effects of commercial tourism on the natural environment, and help local people to sustain their traditional lifestyles. Accommodation is environment-friendly, they promote recycling, energy efficiency, water re-use, and they create economic opportunities for local communities.
In my opinion ecotourism is a very good way to learn about our natural environment as well as do something for saving it and at the same time enjoy a holiday. It has an important educational value, because it's much easier and enjoyable to learn about the environment while you are actually enjoying some activities with your family or friends in nature. Children love holidays like this. Eco-tourism also helps conservation in the country or region because it generates income for the area and many visitors give donations to conservation groups, too. It has an important awareness value as well, which means that people who go on holidays like this, become much more aware of the importance of environment protection.
I believe, Hungary has a huge potential for eco-tourism, because we have lots of beautiful and almost untouched areas as well as beautiful national parks. Especially compared to other European countries, Hungary could be an ideal destination for birdwatchers and nature-lovers. For example, where I live, there are beautiful forests with rare species and in the town there is a Visitor Centre for tourists interested in nature and conservation. Also, you can find an eco-friendly farm in a nearby village, where you can learn about the harmony between humans and nature. All we need is better advertising and marketing to attract tourists.

In these pictures I can see some animals, such as a panda, a rhino, a deer and an owl. In the middle, there is a picture of a forest which has been cleared. These pictures remind me of one of the biggest problems nowadays, which is deforestation.
There’s no doubt, that one of the planet’s major problems is deforestation, especially in tropical rainforests. People cut down trees for paper or to make room for cattle farms, but with this, they can cause huge disasters. Firstly because, trees keep the air clean, as they absorb carbon dioxide and give oxygen. Without oxygen life is impossible, so people should think about that before they cut down a tree. Secondly, because the damage puts lots of animal species under threat, as they lose their habitats. As a consequence, they are threatened with extinction.
Furthermore, forests regulate the water cycle of the planet, produce and protect soil, and are the sources of half the medicine used worldwide. Forests are often planted to protect us against natural disasters. When forests are lost, very often the soil is also lost, and this is called erosion.
The list of animal species officially declared to be endangered is shockingly long. The most well- known among them are the giant panda, the polar bear, the great blue whale, the rhinoceros, the mountain gorilla, to mention only a few. These animals are mostly endangered because of the destruction of their habitats. That’s why we must take steps to stop cutting down forests, and save ecosystems which keep a whole community of plants and animals alive.
I think helping animals to reproduce might be one possible solution to help them to survive. Wildlife reserves, zoos, safari parks play an important role in this, because sometimes they can give the whole species a last chance. So we should create parks like these, plant trees and adopt animals. We are also morally responsible for the survival of these animals because it is human activity that has caused their being endangered.
As I see it, environment protection is a complex thing and there are lots of things we should do. For example we use lots of dangerous chemicals at home, which, after getting into our waters make fish in rivers die out. Everybody should be aware of how much hazardous waste they have at home and take these to special waste disposal sites for hazardous chemicals. For example paints, nail varnish, used cooking oil can be found in every home and they are extremely dangerous chemicals.
Another thing that anyone can do is support conservation by either doing voluntary work for them or donating money for their causes.
We still have the chance to save our planet, all we need to do is open our eyes and act immediately or our world will become impossible to live in.
